As the sender, you have less and less control over how the message appears in someone’s inbox. By segmenting your email communications out to different addresses, you give the end user more control over how they filter your communications.

The Joy of Unsubscribe

When was the last time unsubscribing to an email made you chuckle? This was sure a first for me. I meant to click ‘view in browser’, but clicked ‘unsubscribe’ by mistake on today’s Groupon email. I’m glad I fat fingered it because I stumbled upon one of those marketing gems that I wish I’d thought of first.

It’s Called Social Networking for a Reason

If you’re just realizing that this whole social networking thing is something you want to pay attention to, you’re a little late to the game. Additionally, if you think it’s the Holy Grail of advertising and marketing you need to put down the kool-aid you’re drinking. I’d say we’ve hit the spot where we can just consider it part of, well… networking, marketing and advertising. The key thing is, just like in anything else, you need to understand the medium or you’re going to look like a fool.

Mooney Airplane Company planned to unveil two new models of airplanes at the Oshkosh Air Show and wanted to get invitations into the hands of select people who would be prime candidates to test fly the new models at the show.
