Different articles and reports about Moms and their smartphone habits have been crossing my desk lately. By combining information from several sources, a clear picture forms of how smartphones are currently a big part of life for many moms.
Moms are more likely to have a smartphone than the general public and many use theirs to help shop. What does all this mean?
At first it looks like lots of marketing should take place in the mobile space. But another article today shared that, overall, mobile banner ads are not performing well. However, there is evidence that well placed and planned mobile ads can work.
Another assumption is that campaigns need to be active in all social media spaces to make sure Moms see the efforts. Maybe optimize for each platform, but certainly be there.
As logical as this seems, Moms remain very busy people. They want to know how your product or service could help them feel less busy or accomplish an important goal. Like many people, they probably prefer to not be inundated with information from you unless they seek it out. Thoughtfulness is certainly the best approach when seeking to connect with any audience.
