Creative marketing communications firm Bozell today announced its 2012 summer interns: Ryan Cromley, Creative Center Art College; Tara Grieser, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Lauren Naughton, Creighton University; Chayse Barr, Northwest Missouri State University; Christine Dunn, University of Nebraska at Omaha; and Alexandra Nguyen, Wichita State University. This year’s class will work with the Assistance League of Omaha to build brand awareness of the organization and drive sales at its community thrift shop.

The Bozell Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with the tools necessary to begin a career in marketing. Over the course of the summer, interns will work side by side with Bozell employees on multiple projects for a variety of the agency’s clients. In addition to regular client work, the internship team is assigned a project for a local nonprofit organization in which they take the lead from start to finish.

“We’re excited to welcome another talented group of interns this summer,” said AnnMarie Fereday, business engagement developer and intern coordinator. “Interns will have the opportunity to act as their own agency team throughout the summer to develop a fully integrated client campaign. This program is a wonderful way for students and recent graduates to gain real agency experience while contributing to a great cause.”

Assistance League of Omaha is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that services the specific needs of children and adults in the greater Omaha community.  With 380 members in the Omaha chapter, the organization funds its programs through grants, donations, fundraisers and revenue from its thrift shop on 35th and Leavenworth.  Programs include:

• Operation School Bell – Supplies children in need from Omaha Public Schools with the clothes they need to go to school.
• Operation Bear Hug – Provides over 650 teddy bears to the Omaha Police Department to give to children who have been through a crisis.
• Operation Teen Parent – Encourages teen parents to finish high school through mentorship, quarterly rewards and recognition.
• Assault Survivor Kits – Supplies a complete change of clothing and hygiene products to emergency rooms and shelters for victims of rape and other forms of violence.
