Midlands Business Journal of Greater Omaha, Lincoln, and Council Bluffs, today announced Scott Rowe, partner in charge of digital at Bozell, as one of the winners of their 40 Under 40. The 2012 Midlands Business Journal’s 11th annual 40 Under 40 Awards honors 40 entrepreneurs, executives and business and professional men and women under the age of 40. Rowe, along with the 39 other winners, will be celebrated during an awards breakfast on Friday, December 14th.
In 2003, Scott Rowe, photojournalist turned self-taught programmer, walked through the agency doors of Bozell. In addition to Web-development, Scott worked to formalize processes internally, structure the interactive department for efficiency and increase revenue. By 2006, he was a marketing guru and became Bozell’s partner in charge of digital marketing. Day in and day out, Scott is responsible for helping clients solve their marketing problems on the digital front. He has a knack for data analysis, digital marketing and SEO. In a nut shell, he can effectively translate a company’s communication into the digital world. And we’ve seen him do this successfully for clients time and time again.
Scott has made a name for himself both inside and outside of the Bozell office. There’s almost not enough time to list out all of his accomplishments, special projects and business related affiliations. But we’ll try and list just a few.
- He was an integral part of the strategic thought process behind Bozell’s pitch for JDRF on AMC’s The Pitch, which resulted in Bozell winning the client’s business.
- He and his interactive team have garnered a number of regional, national and international awards, including AIGA, AMA Pinnacles, AAF Nebraska ADDYs, PRSA Anvil Awards, OMMA, W3, Web Marketing Association and Webbys.
- His concept and digital execution of Westlake Ace Hardware’s Zombie Preparedness campaign not only drew the attention of consumers and media outlets across the globe, but also won the Best in Show award for AAF Nebraska ADDYs.
- He recognized the need for a QR code management system that would help marketers organize and track their QR code campaigns. So he initiated and led the development of QRinkle, a system that does just that – for free.
- He initiated and stars in the Bozell video blog, Eternal Beta, where he and a co-host talk about current trends in the digital world.
- Scott is a sought out speaker, having participated in speaking engagements across the country, including Wire Me Awake, and a number of marketing and advertising associations.
- He continues to give back to his academic roots, making regular speaking appearances at his alma mater, the University of Nebraska – Kearney.
And yes, that’s just a few.
On top of all of his work success, Scott is also a family man. He has a wife of more than 10 years, a rambunctious seven-year-old who shares Scott’s passion for digital innovation, and a newborn baby girl who is now the next biggest challenge on his plate. But even with all of this, Scott still finds time to enjoy his secret pleasures, like photography, filmography and writing. How he does it all, we have no idea. But, to be honest you, we’ve never actually seen him sleep, so that’s always a possibility.
Scott makes the most out of every day – in everything he does. Recognizing his accomplishments has now been 38 years in the making. Scott has and continues to uphold what this award represents. He is part of the ongoing betterment of Omaha and none of us would be the same without him.
