Bozell Zombies Campaign Proves to be Killer as Best of Show at ADDYs

Bozell Wins 30 Awards at 2012 ADDYs Reception

The 2012 ADDYs campaign, “Seeking Killer Work,” turned literal when it crowned Bozell’s Zombie Preparedness Campaign for Westlake Ace Hardware as Best of Show. The Omaha creative agency also earned 29 category awards.

 

“We are so proud of our team—they have worked incredibly hard this year, and it feels fantastic to see their talent rewarded and recognized,” said Kim Mickelsen, Bozell managing principal responsible for the Westlake Zombie Preparedness campaign.

Bozell created the Zombie Preparedness campaign as a social media-driven initiative to boost awareness among 25- to 40-year-olds during the month of October. The campaign featured a zombie awakening and showcased Westlake as the one-stop-shop for all zombie preparedness needs. The campaign quickly built buzz throughout October with local, national and international media coverage, more than doubling Westlake’s Facebook followers and increasing unique visitors by 80 percent.

In addition to Best of Show, Bozell earned six Gold ADDYs and 23 Silver ADDYs. The agency’s Silver Award winners included work for Borsheims, Dan Wilson Music, VP Buildings, Wellness Council of the Midlands, Bozell’s “New Space” video and Bozell’s in-house created QR code generator QRinkle, and its work for the 2012 ADDYs campaign theme, “Seeking Killer Work.”

Its six Gold ADDY winners were:

•    Emails/E-cards for Westlake Ace Hardware’s Zombie Preparedness campaign
•    Online Campaign for Westlake Ace Hardware’s Zombie Preparedness campaign

•    Mixed-Media, National Consumer for Westlake Ace Hardware’s Zombie Preparedness campaign
•    Self-Promotion, Campaign for Bozell’s new business materials
