Kim Mickelsen and Scott Rowe to Present at AAF Lincoln Luncheon about “The Pitch”

Omaha-based Bozell was one of only 15 advertising agencies in the country to be featured in the new AMC Network series “The Pitch.” Cameras followed Bozell for 10 days, capturing brainstorming, planning, concepting and much more as they prepared to go head-to-head against another agency for a piece of real business. Come to hear the inside scoop from Kim Mickelsen, managing principal, and Scott Rowe, partner in charge of digital. They will answer your questions and talk about their experiences during the filming as well as their thoughts before and after the show aired.

Mobile-Up for the Holidays

Based on the surprising amount of mobile use during the 2011 holiday season and increasing discussion of showrooming overall, no one should be surprised by the current number of articles discussing mobile for the 2012 holiday season.
So what does this all really look like? I read the other day that more iPhones are sold each day than babies born, worldwide. That seems like a lot to me. And we know that iPhones are only a portion of the smartphone audience. Last February, iPhones made up 30% of smartphone preferences.

Bozell’s Grand Prix

Many wonder what it takes to get accepted into the Bozell Summer Internship program. When applying it is important to complete all of the following (trust me, I’m an intern):

  • List related and completed courses to show what you know
  • Compile the perfect portfolio to show your skills
  • Answer essays to show how you think
  • Get a letter of recommendation to show that someone actually believes in you
  • And most important of all…hone your Mario Kart skills to show the world that you’re better than the other interns because how you handle the 64 bit racers is the most important measuring stick of one’s abilities…obviously.

Getting Generation Y to Care and Believe in Causes: Generation Y, which I belong to, seems to think that they know more than their parents these days. You could attribute this to the typical generational gap but maybe there’s really something to it. We’re at an interesting point in history where a message no matter how small can reach millions within a few clicks of mouse, and I find that to be amazing and powerful. My generation grew up along with the technology boom and it’s second nature to us because that’s all we’ve ever known. Today’s youth are in a prime position to shift how people change the world and a big part of that is because of digital space and social media. Read More
