Tracy Koeneke
Media Director

LINCOLN, NE

Born, grew up and met my lifelong friends there.

First job: babysitting.

UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA – LINCOLN

My degree is in journalism and mass communication. I originally thought my future career would be in web creation. Stacey James was my adviser, and she showed me not to accept things a first glance.

LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR – SALES

I started within the classified sales department. We were responsible for taking calls and responding to emails for customers to place ads.

I learned a lot about customer service and effective communication.

I left when I was offered an opportunity at an agency that would expand my career and allow me to work with outlets other than the local paper.

ZAISS AND COMPANY – ASSISTANT MEDIA BUYER, MEDIA DIRECTOR

Joining Zaiss was my first opportunity to join agency life, and there were many major differences. It was where I learned to translate expectations and needs into meeting business goals.

I started as an assistant media buyer and developed all the way to media director.

BOZELL – MEDIA DIRECTOR

Having strong negotiating skills as the media director means added value to client campaigns, ensuring they get the best for their spend.

Words to live by: Never take no for an answer.
