COLUMBIA, MO
Born in Columbia, MO, I reached Omaha by the time I hit first grade, but not before a brief stint in Peoria, IL where a hot air balloon fell from the sky and crashed right into our neighbor’s home.
OMAHA, NE
Life seems to offer me excitement, wherever that happens to be.
Even as a first-grader, I could tell right away there were intriguing (or provocative) things going on in Omaha.
In school, I was drawn to graphic design which was the closest I felt I could get to my true passion, motion graphics and movies. My first foray into graphic design was an internship at Oriental Trading Company. I loved it – and I didn’t hate the impressive variety of rubber ducks they had either – just one of many job perks.
When my next job printing t-shirts enabled me to design a pteronkey (no, it’s not a real animal) for a little league team – I was totally hooked.
MALONE & CO. – MOTION DESIGN
Even though I have always loved movies, they are my passion, my love for Omaha kept me from heading to the coast to make it my career. You can imagine my surprise when I received a job offer in motion graphics right here at home.
I learned a ton working on Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, and when my short animation for a friend’s birthday garnered 30 million views I was over the moon!
BOZELL – MOTION DESIGN
But don’t get the idea that my life is all glamor and glitz – I mean you’d hardly say that about a guy whose first night in his new digs were spent in an attempt to suppress a 1-ft column of water that was continually erupting from the toilet? Would you? Especially not if you knew that he wailed like a little girl to the deaf ears of the new roommate. On a side note, ignoring your roommate’s cries will result in your bath towels being the dam that stops the flood.
