PR Coordinator

BEAVER LAKE, NE

I grew up with a lake as my backyard, and I have so many good memories playing with my older sister at the beach, tubing around the lake and fishing.

UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA – OMAHA

I was an account executive for MaverickPR, a student-run public relations firm at UNO. Karen Weber, our professor and adviser, was always pushing us.

She’s a tough cookie and never gives out an easy A.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in communication, majoring in journalism and media communication.

MIDLANDS BUSINESS JOURNAL – EDITORIAL INTERN

I was constantly interviewing and interacting with different people and companies, so I learned how to make people feel comfortable and how to best gather information.

I ultimately realized I didn’t want to work in an editorial position or in a newsroom, but I learned skills that have been valuable for public relations.
BOZELL – PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN

The first time I applied to be an intern at Bozell, I didn’t get a call back. I considered it a major failure, but I tried again and eventually landed the internship.

Looking back, I wasn’t ready for that responsibility, so it all worked out for the best.

My first accomplishment was creating a social media content calendar for College of Saint Mary’s lowered tuition announcement, but I think my biggest accomplishment was getting hired as a full-time PR coordinator following my internship.
BOZELL – PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR

As PR coordinator, I work to expand brand reach across all platforms, especially social media, and ensure clients are aware of every available public relations opportunity.
Words to live by: Strive to be better today than you were yesterday.
