I remember going to every CWS game I could, taking trips to the zoo and playing kickball in my cul-de-sac.

My dad was always blaring AC/DC and KISS in the car, and five-year-old me was always singing along.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA

My first gig was in-house, and I worked as the marketing intern for the Marketing and University Relations office at USD. While I learned a lot, my day-to-day tasks were more journalistic than I preferred.

Dr. Teddi Joyce taught me everything I needed to know about the advertising industry and then some.

She’d kill me if I didn’t say this: You never have a “first annual” event, it is ALWAYS inaugural.

BAILEY LAUERMAN – CONNECTIONS STRATEGY INTERN

This was my first taste of agency life, and I worked primarily in public relations and digital. While I learned valuable information, I also decided that PR was not the best fit for me.

It was by watching the daily tasks of the account intern, however, that I realized account service might be a better direction.
BOZELL – ACCOUNT SERVICE INTERN

Following my internship with Bailey Lauerman, I started my senior year of college. I participated in my second year of the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), this time as an account executive, and was convinced I should pursue account service.

I thought I’d be back at square one at the end of the summer if I took an internship and not a full-time job. I asked about the possibility of being hired on after the summer during my interview and then worked like crazy.

Now they’re stuck with me …

BOZELL – ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Turning my summer internship into a full-time position was a great accomplishment. Now, I’m excited to continue organizing, communicating and planning with our clients and the rest of the Bozell team.
