I was born and raised in Omaha where my crowning glory was starring as Curley in my high school production of Oklahoma. Once out in the world, my first job was working the carnival games at Peony Park (that’s an Omaha insider reference) where I learned that it’s possible to have fun with both customers and co-workers. A lesson that has taught me well as I went on to take a deep dive into the riveting world of technology.

Once bitten by the tech bug, I got my first paying web job in 1999 writing JavaScript functions to create button hover effects for a friend’s design company.

FREELANCE INTERNET MARKETER AND WEBSITE AND DATABASE DESIGNER

As I moved from project to project, the deadlines and demands have caused me to stop working on my PhD in Early Christianity and Second Temple Judaism on more than one occasion, but I’m determined to get there eventually.

My obsession with technology is fueled by my love of a challenge.

I encourage clients to “shoot for the stars” because web technology moves so rapidly, what is impossible today might be a breeze tomorrow. The key is to constantly research and keep up on the newest developments. It can be all consuming, but necessary in order to offer the best value for the solutions we provide.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – SUMMITSOFT CORP.

One client in particular had a complex web app that they had been told repeatedly either wasn’t possible or would be cost prohibitive. After a great deal of research, it became apparent that none of the existing JavaScript libraries had the capability to provide detailed manipulations of vector graphics.

The only way to solve this problem was to create my own JavaScript libraries.

It also helped that by the time I was brought in, standards had progressed, and HTML 5 had come into existence. The project involved creating new vector editing JavaScript and php libraries allowing for a user to create, edit and export vector graphics while still being user-friendly enough for anyone to use.

After eight months, the client had an application they had been told was impossible, along with a road map of improvements that they never thought possible.

DIGITAL SOLUTIONS SPECIALIST – BOZELL

Considering my background, I was initially a little surprised at being sought after by an advertising agency. Although I was intrigued by the thought of such a wide variety of clients I didn’t really know what to expect. I had to check this company out. What I found made me eager to join their ranks and be a part of this compelling adventure.
