CHICAGO, IL
Chicago is definitely my hometown, and many major life moments happened there: I got my first real job, I met my wife, my son was born and – I’ll never forget – the Cubs won the World Series!
VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY
I wasn’t sure what my career was going to be, but because I knew I loved entertaining, I pursued my BFA in Theater Performance. No one was surprised; I had been the mascot in both high school and college.
An eagle and a ram, respectively.
MARKETING WERKS – SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER
I was working at Michaels Arts and Crafts as the frame shop manager when my roommate and I went out for karaoke. And, this is going to sound surprising, but it changed everything. People from a marketing agency were there and wanted to interview me for a job. It led to my first gig in the industry.
If anyone is hesitant to sing karaoke, just tell them I was singing karaoke at the same place, one year later, when I met my wife. Anything can happen!
My initial job was to go to bars in the Chicagoland area and promote Old Style Beer. By the end of my eleven years, I had worked with big-name clients like Verizon, General Motors, LEGO, CharBroil and Harrah’s.
NEWBRIDGE MARKETING GROUP – DIRECTOR OF CLIENT SERVICE
I went from a kid with a theatre degree to director of client service thanks to industry experts who took the time to teach me the ropes. This position also allowed me work from home, which meant I got to spend a lot of time with my son for the first three years of his life. Having that time to bond was the biggest blessing I’ve ever had.
I was working at home one day when the doorbell began to frantically ring. I ran upstairs to find our house was on fire. There were strangers standing on our lawn, so I threw them a hose and ran back inside to get my son. We put the fire out before the fire department arrived and everything was fine, but man, what a debacle!
BOZELL – ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
My wife is from Omaha, and I’d been looking for an Omaha-based company for some time. Thanks to an internet search, I found Bozell. I’m looking forward to bringing fresh ideas, helping us grow and sharing future victories with the team.
Words to live by: Be kind. Work hard. Enjoy life.
